Dr. Nitin Kumar is an Assistant Professor-Grade II at Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP), specializing in Environmental Sustainability and Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, and brings over six years of experience across a range of multidisciplinary environmental research and applications. Dr. Kumar’s research expertise spans several critical areas, including solid waste management, green hydrogen production, biogas generation via anaerobic digestion, and the conversion of biomass to biofuels. Additionally, he focuses on carbon accounting, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics, water and wastewater treatment, and pollution remediation.

A key highlight of Dr. Kumar's career is his contribution to the development of a patented rapid conversion technology for the treatment of organic waste. His research has been published in leading journals, covering topics such as waste management, water treatment, and nutrient recovery. He has also managed several research and consultancy projects, including the design and installation of waste management systems, wastewater treatment systems for industrial applications, and high infiltration rate rainwater harvesting systems. In recognition of his academic and professional excellence, Dr. Kumar has received multiple government scholarships and awards for his contributions to Environmental Management.

As an educator, Dr. Kumar adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating field-based case studies, technological innovations, and academic rigor. His teaching emphasizes both theoretical depth and industry-relevant insights, preparing students to tackle real world challenges.
