Sri Balaji Entrance Screening Test (SBEST) is an entrance exam conducted by Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP). The entrance exam is optional.

Eligibility for MBA SBEST

  • Any graduate from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) is eligible to apply.

  • Students currently in the final year of their graduation and expected to secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks may also apply for the MBA courses. The admission committee may give more weightage to higher marks in graduation.

 

SBEST 2026 Exam Schedule

  • Briefing about SBEST: 14th March, 2026 (03:00 PM to 04:00 PM)

  • SBEST Mock Test: 17th March, 2026 (03:00 PM - 04:00 PM)

  • The duration of the mock test is 30 minutes & 15 questions.

  • Sri Balaji Entrance Screening Test (SBEST): 21st March, 2026 (03:00 PM - 04:00 PM)

  • Login starts 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time. Aspirants must log in and join the exam at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time

  • SBEST Results will be declared on or before 30th March, 2026

Admission Process

 

The common application form for all four management institutes of Sri Balaji University, Pune, and the twelve courses can be submitted online with an application fee of INR 1000. If you are appearing for SBEST Exam the fee will be INR 490 (service provider taxes applicable for all payments). The successful payment of the application fee is followed by issuing of a registration number.

 

Selection Procedure

Written Examination


We accept management examination test scores such as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/MAH-CET/ATMA test scores. However, as management examination test scores are issued to the students, any student who has appeared for the management examination test examinations can apply for our courses. Thus, all the four Management institutes will accept management examination test scores. However, the management examination test and scores will be equalized and validated to the CAT score value and that will only be counted for the purpose of the merit list. It is not necessary that these scores should be attached to the Application form at this stage. These scores sheets can be dispatched so as to reach us latest by 28th May 2026. Anyone having any objection to the same, need not apply. We do not believe in any cut-off points as we give only 35% of the weightage for the entrance examination while making the merit list.

In case the applicant do not have an Entrance Examination Score / Not appeared for Entrance examination or would like to improve their scores mentioned above can opt for Sri Balaji Entrance and Screening Test (SBEST)

 

Group Discussions


Candidates who fulfill the qualitative requirements will be called for the Group Discussions by experts. This will be for a duration of 30-45 minutes per group. This may include role play, case studies, and extempore speech and GD. 35% of the weightage in the merit list will be given to the GD process.

 

Personal Interviews


This expert panel interview will carry 30% of the weightage. This panel will assess the candidates on various parameters including the suitability of the candidate for a particular specialization. The panel will also give the opportunity to the applicants to add or delete course options.

Group Discussions (For MBA Only)

Candidates who fulfill the qualitative requirements will be called for the Group Discussions by experts. This will be for a duration of 30-45 minutes per group. This may include role play, case studies, and extempore speech and GD. 35% of the weightage in the merit list will be given to the GD process. Therefore, the GD process may extend to the second day although all efforts will be made to complete the process in one day. This is an elimination round.

Personal Interviews

Our expert panel conducts personal interview. This panel will assess the candidates on various parameters including the suitability of the candidate for a particular specialization. The panel will also give the opportunity to the applicants to add or delete course options.

Admission Eligibility

  • Be a UGC-recognized university graduate with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST Category).

  • Students currently in the final year of their graduation and confident of securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks may also apply for the MBA courses. The admission committee may give more weightage to higher marks in graduation.

  • It is imperative that the candidate should have taken at least one exam out of CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/MAH-CET/ATMA. MAT exams held after Aug/Sept 2025 to May 2026 will be considered for admission to the academic year 2026-28. We believe that true talent cannot be judged based on the score granted by any entrance exam. Hence, we do not have a cut-off score below which if the candidate scores cannot apply to the program.

  • If an applicant lacks an Entrance Examination Score, has not taken the Entrance examination, or wishes to enhance the scores mentioned above, they may choose to participate in the Sri Balaji Entrance and Screening Test (SBEST)

Note: The students are required to pay the fees on or before the stipulated date. A late fee of Rs. 100/- per day will be applicable on 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th installments for the first 30 days and thereafter Rs. 250/- per day.

All programs run under the aegis of the Sri Balaji University are specially approved for education loan from  Propelld Tata Capital Punjab National Bank Axis Bank Bank Of Baroda IDFC First Bank Credenc AVANSE Bank Of Maharashtra Credila . Sri Balaji University, Pune has signed MoUs with these banks. An education loan can be availed from any of the mentioned banks/NBFCs. However, students have the liberty to approach any other bank as per their convenience.

With immense pleasure, we announce that w.e.f. 1st April 2022 Sri Balaji University, Pune, has become an esteemed member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Be a UGC-recognized university graduate with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category) SC/ST Candidates in the final year of Graduation/Degree can also apply, however the admission will be granted provisionally. It is imperative that the candidate should have taken at least one exam out of CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT or MH-CET. We have four-seater rooms. Hostel accommodation is provided on First-Come-First-Serve basis restricted to first year only for the period June to April. Preference will be given to outstation students. Hostel allotment will be done only on the basis of receipt of the requisite fee of Rs. 91,500/- (Rupees Ninety-One Thousand Five Hundred only). A mere telephone call or request through email will not be accepted. Complimentary Breakfast and Lunch will be provided to Hostel Students.

Important Dates


The common application form for all institutes of Sri Balaji University including Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM)  can be submitted online or offline with an application fee of INR 1000/-. If you are appearing for SBEST Exam, the fee will be INR 490/- (service provider taxes applicable for all payments). The successful payment of the application fee is followed by issuing a registration number.

With immense pleasure, we announce that w.e.f. 1st April 2022 Sri Balaji University, Pune, has become an esteemed member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Be a UGC-recognized university graduate with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category) SC/ST Candidates in the final year of Graduation/Degree can also apply, however the admission will be granted provisionally. We have four-seater rooms. Hostel accommodation is provided on First-Come-First-Serve basis restricted to first year only for the period June to April. Preference will be given to outstation students. Hostel allotment will be done only on the basis of receipt of the requisite fee of Rs. 91,500/- (Rupees Ninety-One Thousand Five Hundred only). Scholarships

Basic Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must apply through Sri Balaji University, Pune’s online admission process.
  • The candidate must clear SBUP’s selection process (GD, PI and Essay).
  • Eligible students may apply for one or more scholarships separately by clicking on the below links before the stipulated date and time.
  • If the candidate is eligible, he/she will be awarded only one scholarship for which he/she is eligible.
  • If student of second Year is applying for scholarship, then such student must have passed with minimum 60% marks in earlier year.
  • If student of second Year is applying for scholarship, then such student should not have any backlog in Internal as well as external subjects.
  • The students applying for scholarship should have minimum 75% LHR in the earlier semesters/year.
  • The students applying for scholarship should not have his / her name in the red list.
  • Any student who is found with in disciplined behavior in earlier year/semester shall be disqualified.
  • The existing scholarship recommended to each student is for the current Academic Year 2024-2025.
  • If any student who has been granted the scholarship cancels the admission or discontinues the program in subsequent year, the scholarship amount shall be recovered.

This Scholarship is for the wards of “Uniformed People” such as Defence personnel, Para military, and Police officials.

Selection Process

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SBUP will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship on the basis of following conditions:

  • The student’s parents must belong to Defence, Para military, Police services etc.
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 70 % & above marks in 10th class.
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 70 % & above marks in 12th class / Diploma.

Fee Structure

25% of Academic Fees will be the scholarship to these students.

As per Government of Maharashtra, GR No. Sankirna/-2022/P.K.91/Vishi-4, Dt. 22nd June 2023, this scholarship is to be given to the 10% of total admitted students, belonging to Maharashtra domicile and who belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) irrespective of the caste, on the basis of merit. The scholarship is 50% concession in the academic fees.

This scholarship is named as Dr. P. C. Shejwalkar Memorial Scholarship (For EWS students).

A small write-up about the Prof. M.S. Pillai Memorial Scholarship by our beloved Founder-Chancellor, Professor Dr. (Col.) A Balasubramanian in his golden words-

 “Prof. M. S. Pillai was an innovator and an extraordinary professor and management educationist. He was a genius, known for bold initiatives in management education. I happen to be one of his blessed students. After my retirement from the army when I came to Symbiosis, Prof. M.S. Pillaiwas leaving for a Kerala-based institute. But soon he came back to start SCMHRD while I was running SIMS. There was a healthy collaboration between us and we complemented each other, resulting in growth, both for ourselves as well as our students.

Prof. M. S. Pillai introduced meditation and Vipassana as compulsory subjects for his management students. He also mentored many corporate leaders. He was a good learner and a great teacher, totally devoted to his students. He was a kindhearted but tough disciplinarian. An excellent counsellor. Thousands of students have benefited from his training and guidance. Above all, Prof Pillai was known for his humility and humanity. He was a role model and as his disciple and chancellor of SBUP, it is my duty to cherish his memory through the Prof M S Pillai Memorial Scholarship.

Bhimrao Ramji alias Babasaheb Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956) was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer and political leader who headed the committee drafting the Constitution of India from the Constituent Assembly debates, served as Law and Justice minister in the first cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru, and inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement after renouncing Hinduism.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar graduated from Elphinstone College, University of Bombay, and studied economics at Columbia University and the London School of Economics, receiving doctorates in 1927 and 1923 respectively and was among a handful of Indian students to have done so at either institution in the 1920s. He also trained in the law at Gray's Inn, London. In his early career, he was an economist, professor, and lawyer. His later life was marked by his political activities; he became involved in campaigning and negotiations for India's independence, publishing journals, advocating political rights and social freedom for Dalits, and contributing significantly to the establishment of the state of India. In 1956, he converted to Buddhism, initiating mass conversions of Dalits.

In 1990, the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, was posthumously conferred on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The salutation Jai Bhim used by followers honours him. He is also referred to by the honorific Babasaheb meaning "Respected Father". In order to honour the stupendous work and contribution of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, SBUP proposes to introduce a scholarship in his name.

  • This scholarship will be awarded to Backward class students belonging to SC / ST and having domicile in Maharashtra only
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 60 % marks in 10th class.
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 60 % marks in 12th class / Diploma

This scholarship is only for the wards of JCOs and other ranks service/ex-servicemen from the Artillery regiments of the Indian Army. Complete academic fee for a total of 8 students (4 boys and 4 girls) will be waived off by SBUP.

The Director-General of Artillery, Delhi has sent an official notification to all the 6 HQs of various artillery centers – HQ Southern comd. (arty), (HQ South-Western comd. (arty), HQ Eastern comd. (arty), HQ Western comd. (arty), HQ Northern comd (arty) and HQ Central comd (arty) – announcing the scholarship.

SELECTION PROCESS

The eligible candidate’s parents must obtain a recommendation letter from their
respective HQ and submit the same to the institute along with an application. If there are
many applications, merit will be the criteria for selecting the top 8 students, by a
University Committee.

Number of Scholarship: 08 (1 boy and 1 girl from each management institute of
SBUP)

Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu, MC (26th August 1910 – 5th September 1997), better known as Mother Teresa, in 1950, founded the Missionaries of Charity. AnjezëGonxhe Bojaxhiu was born in Skopje—at the time, part of the Ottoman Empire. After eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived most of her life. Saint Teresa of Calcutta was canonized on 4th September 2016.

Mother Teresa received several honours, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa was admired by many for her charitable work.

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule (11 April 1827 – 28 November 1890) was an Indian social activist, businessman, anti-caste social reformer and writer from Maharashtra. His work extended to many fields, including eradication of untouchability and the caste system and for his efforts in educating women and oppressed caste people. He and his wife, Savitribai Phule, were pioneers of women's education in India. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule started his first school for girls in 1848 in Pune at Tatyasaheb Bhide's residence or Bhidewada. He, along with his followers, formed the Satyashodhak Samaj (Society of Truth Seekers) to attain equal rights for people from lower castes. People from all religions and castes could become a part of this association which worked for the upliftment of the oppressed classes.

In order to honour his contribution for the upliftment of lower castes people of society, SBUP proposes to introduce a scholarship in his name, the details of which are as follows:’

The main objective of this scholarship is to provide encouragement and to facilitate higher education to the students who belong to the reserved categories as per the following;

The students from “Maharashtra state”, belonging to the Vimukta Jati (VJ), De Notified Tribes (DT) (NT-A), Nomadic Tribes 1 (NT-B), Nomadic Tribes 2 (NT-C), Nomadic Tribes 3 (NT-D), Other Backward Class (OBC), Special Backward Class (SBC), Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) and who are in non-creamy layer.

  • The candidates should have scored equal to or greater than 60% marks at the SSC, HSC and Graduation examination.
  • The scholarship will be of 5% of two years Academic Fees of the concerned program.

Selection Process

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Vice Chancellor will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was an Indian ruler and a member of the Bhonsle Maratha clan. He initially served as the Jagirdar of Pune after 1664 succeeding his father Shahaji. Eventually, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj carved out his own independent kingdom from the declining Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur which formed the genesis of the Maratha Empire. In 1674, he was formally crowned the Chhatrapati of his realm at Raigad Fort.

Over the course of his life, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj engaged in both alliances and hostilities with the Mughal Empire, the Sultanate of Golkonda, Sultanate of Bijapur and the European colonial powers. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established a competent and progressive civil rule with well- structured administrative organisations.

In order to honour this meritorious contribution in various fields it is proposed to offer the following scholarships to meritorious students

Selection Process

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Vice Chancellor will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship.

  • The candidate should be in the merit list of SBUP selection process.
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 75 % & above marks in 10th class
  • The candidate should have scored minimum 75 % & above marks in 12th class / Diploma

Fee Structure

20% of Academic Fees will be the scholarship to these students.

The main objective of this scholarship is to provide encouragement and to facilitate higher education of meritorious children of employees of Sri Balaji University, Pune.

  • Exemption of 50% in tuition fee for the wards of SBUP employees, who have completed continuous five years of service in SBUP.
  • Only one ward of the employee shall be accommodated in exemption of tuition fee.
  • The Scholarship amount can be considered 100% of the tuition fee, for meritorious wards of SBUP employees in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th year of the program, on the following basis :-
    1.) If obtained minimum 70% marks and at least 80% attendance in every academic year in the admitted program.
    1.) Recommendation letter for fulfilling the above mentioned conditions from the concerned Principal of the College.

Fee Structure

50% of Tuition Fee will be the scholarship to these students but it can be considered

100% of Tuition Fee if he / she fulfill the criteria mentioned above in point number C.

Selection Committee: The selection of students for the award of different scholarships shall be done by the following committee;

Captain Vikram Batra (9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an Indian Army officer. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest Indian military decoration, for his actions during the Kargil War; on 7 July 1999, Captain Vikram Batra was killed while fighting Pakistani troops around Area Ledge, Point 4875, in Kargil district of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir. In order to honour his contribution to the nation, SBUP proposes to introduce a scholarship in his name, the details of which are as follows:

Serving Officer of Indian Army on study leave to undergo on-campus MBA program at Sri Balaji University, Pune.

The scholarship will be of 80% of two years Academic Fees 

SELECTION PROCESS 

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Vice Chancellor will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship.

The details of the scholarship are as follows:

  • This Scholarship is for Serving Officer of Indian Air Force and Indian Navy who on study leave to undergo on-campus MBA program at Sri Balaji University, Pune.

  • The scholarship will be of 80% of two years Academic Fees to the Serving personnel to undergo on-campus MBA program at Sri Balaji University, Pune.

SELECTION PROCESS 

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Vice Chancellor will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship.

FEE STRUCTURE   

80% of two years Academic Fees will be a scholarship to these students.

Number of Scholarships: 14 (Indian Air Force 08 seats and Indian Navy 06)

Note: 
  • The list of eligible students who are finally selected for this scholarship will be declared after the completion of Scholarship award process.
  • If the number of deserving candidates are more, then the amount shall be equally distributed among all selected students. This clause is applicable to Prof. M. S. Pillai Memorial Scholarship.
  • All the documents/certificates which are submitted must be valid for the current academic year i.e. 2025-2026.
  • Supporting documents from the competent government authority will be scrutinized by the scholarship selection committee and if found incorrect, the scholarship facility will be withdrawn and the next eligible student will be considered.
  • If the student/s has paid the initial fees and subsequently selected for the scholarship the surplus amount paid by them (If any) will be refunded to him/her.
  • The decision of the scholarship selection committee would be the final and cannot be challenged.
